Toyota 500D, officially named TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ, has been unveiled. Its exterior design strongly reflects its predecessor, the 250 Series, and it is expected to hit the market in 2026. The Japanese media outlet BestCarMagazine previewed a mock-up magazine showing partial details of the vehicle.
The TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ will use a ladder-frame chassis, the same type used in the Hilux Champ, because the TNGA-F platform used in the larger LC250 and LC300 is too big. The vehicle will support a full-time 4WD system with a 40:60 torque distribution, and will be equipped with a center differential and a rear Torsen LSD. It will feature three driving modes: ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT, selectable via a rotary dial located on the center console.
