Ivan Espinosa, Chief Planning Officer, spoke about the arrival of the new Nissan LEAF, Micra EV, and next-generation e-POWER technology.
The new Nissan LEAF will feature significant improvements in aerodynamics and will utilize a more advanced EV architecture. It will come with 19-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic moonroof. For the North American market, it will be equipped with a NACS charging port, allowing it to be compatible with Tesla Superchargers. The new Nissan LEAF will use Nissan’s modular CMF-EV platform, which is also used in the Nissan Ariya.
The next-generation e-POWER technology will come with improvements in performance, aiming for a 15% increase in efficiency at high speeds compared to the current generation of e-POWER. It will also help reduce emissions, noise, and vibrations. The main development in the next-generation e-POWER is the use of a new 1.5-liter e-POWER engine. The next-generation e-POWER will debut in the Nissan Qashqai in Europe in late 2025, followed by the Nissan Rogue in North America and a large minivan for the Japanese market in 2026.
For the Oceania market, Nissan will launch the Ariya in Australia by 2025. In 2026, several new models will be introduced, including the all-new Nissan Patrol with right-hand drive, a new one-ton pickup model (known as the Nissan Navara in Thailand), the all-new Nissan LEAF, and the Nissan Qashqai with next-generation e-POWER technology.
