“The new Navara has been developed to meet the exact needs of the market,” said Andrew Humberstone, Nissan Australia’s Vice President and Managing Director. “The Navara is a very important product for us and we have to get it right because there is no room for error with this product.”
The new NAVARA has not been revealed yet but is expected to be launched or at least previewed in the fourth quarter of 2025. Interestingly, the minor-change NP300 Navara/Frontier, which will go on sale in Latin America in FY 2026, will continue to be based on the current (D23) model but with significant facelifts. This means that Nissan will produce three different utes for the global market, and when combined with the mid-size ute for the US market, codenamed D41, there will be four mid-size utes.
Another version of the new NAVARA produced in Thailand will be developed to serve the Oceania (Asia and Australia) market. The new NAVARA will benefit from: Collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors, which we can expect the car to share the platform with the Mitsubishi TRITON and will be the most modern model of the three models in the global market.
As for the timing of the reveal of the production version of the new NAVARA, the regional director of Nissan said, “We hope to have something to see around November in terms of ‘going to market’ for you to see.” This indicates that the production version of the NAVARA New Generation may be revealed in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a scheduled launch in the real market within the fiscal year 2026 of Japan, which is between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
For the Thai version, although the base model of the Mitsubishi TRITON will be a Thai-made model, it is still unclear which version the Thai market will use. We have to wait for further clarity.
