Ford releases more specifications for the Ranger Super Duty ahead of its Australian launch in 2026
Ford Ranger Super Duty will be sold in Australia in one main variant, but with three body styles to choose from:
-
Single Cab-Chassis starting at $82,990 (approx. THB 1.7 million)
-
Super Cab-Chassis starting at $86,480 (approx. THB 1.8 million)
-
Double Cab-Chassis starting at $89,990 (approx. THB 1.91 million)
As a heavy-duty model, the vehicle comes with a reinforced chassis, upgraded differentials and suspension, steel wheels, and larger tyres. This results in the Ranger Super Duty Single Cab-Chassis having a kerb weight of 2,518 kg, the Super Cab-Chassis weighing 2,615 kg, and the Double Cab-Chassis, with seating for five passengers, weighing 2,675 kg.
The maximum Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) is 4,500 kg, giving the Ranger Super Duty a payload capacity of 1,982 kg for the Single Cab chassis without a tray or additional accessories. All models come with a 130-litre fuel tank, though official fuel consumption figures have yet to be announced.
Payload ratings per variant:
-
Super Cab-Chassis: 1,885 kg
-
Double Cab-Chassis: 1,825 kg
(All figures quoted are for cab-chassis versions without a tray fitted.)
The Ranger Super Duty also has a maximum Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of 8,000 kg, supporting a braked towing capacity of 4,500 kg. It comes equipped with front and rear locking differentials, an 850mm wading depth, a snorkel, and 275/70 R18 tyres mounted on 18-inch steel wheels.
Axle load ratings:
-
Front axle: 1,900 kg
-
Rear axle: 2,800 kg
For accessories, the Ranger Super Duty offers a heavy-duty steel tray, available powder-coated or galvanised, using a bolted construction rather than welded, which Ford says improves chassis flexibility.
The Super Duty tray includes 400kg tie-down points, a headboard, moulded mudguards, and mounting points designed to handle heavy payloads.
The vehicle also features a new Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system with manual regeneration control, unlike other Ranger variants that use a fully automatic DPF. This allows drivers to choose when to activate the burn-off cycle, for example when driving through tall grass, to avoid dangerously high temperatures.
Additionally, the Ranger Super Duty is supported by ARB-sourced accessories, such as the Summit Bull Bar, Warn Winch, and integrated in-cabin device mounts (for UHF radios and other equipment).
