The Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR was showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon, with this special edition featuring numerous upgrades in both performance and design.
Toyota states that the GR Yaris Morizo RR was developed using experience and lessons learned from the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours race in Germany, with a model-specific suspension setup created exclusively for this version.
The car is equipped with a carbon-fibre rear wing developed for competition at the Nürburgring, along with a carbon-fibre bonnet, a full body kit, and several model-specific components, including a uniquely styled radiator grille and distinctive exterior paint accents.
Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota, competed in the Nürburgring 24-hour race in a GR Yaris under his racing pseudonym “Morizo,” and is reported to have been directly involved in the development of the Morizo Mode button. This mode replaces the Gravel mode in the GR Yaris and sets the front-to-rear torque distribution at a 50:50 ratio.
This special edition is offered exclusively with an eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, which Toyoda says was a key factor in enabling him to complete 15 laps of the 21-kilometre circuit. The vehicle’s electronic power steering system has also been revised.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in suede, featuring yellow stitching on the GR steering wheel, exclusive seats with yellow stitching, and a dedicated Morizo mode displayed on the digital instrument cluster.
Toyota will produce only 100 units of the GR Yaris Morizo RR for the Japanese market and a further 100 units for Europe, with each vehicle fitted with an individually numbered plaque.
