Geely has officially launched the Galaxy A7 EM-i, a new mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan under the Galaxy sub-brand, with a focus on fuel efficiency and long-range driving. The model boasts very low fuel consumption, with the brand claiming a fuel efficiency of 2 liters per 100 km (50 km/l) when driving without using electric power, and a total range of over 2,100 kilometers on a full charge and fuel tank. The car is expected to be priced around 100,000 yuan, or approximately 450,000 baht.
As for the design of the A7 EM-i, the front features a full-width LED light strip connected to sharp, angular headlamps, along with lower air intakes. The side profile shows clear character lines, turbine-style multi-spoke alloy wheels, and gloss black window trim. The door handles retain the traditional design and are not seamlessly integrated into the body like many other Chinese car models. At the rear, the vehicle includes a full-width taillight and a ducktail-style rear spoiler.
The interior has been newly designed, featuring a dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a large digital instrument cluster, and a floating central infotainment display. The center console includes easy-to-use physical controls, including a rotary dial for screen control, tactile buttons for the air conditioning system, and cupholders with a cover.
For powertrain, the Galaxy A7 EM-i comes with a 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. The engine produces a maximum of 112 horsepower. Although the full specifications of the system have not been officially revealed, it is expected to be similar to the Star 8 EM-i, which uses a 238-horsepower electric motor and has a total system output of up to 350 horsepower, paired with a single-speed DHT transmission.
Regarding the plug-in hybrid battery system, the A7 EM-i offers two electric-only range options: one with a range of 60 km and another with a range of 130 km (CLTC standard).
