Nissan has launched the facelifted Ariya in Japan, with updates spanning design, technology, and suspension tuning.
The 2026 Ariya was first previewed at the recent Japan Mobility Show, and Nissan has now officially revealed the full lineup for the Japanese market. The changes introduced in this update are expected to be rolled out to other markets over the coming months.
The most noticeable change is at the front, which adopts a cleaner new design without a traditional grille, replacing the previous front fascia. The front bumper has been redesigned, and more aggressive fang-shaped LED lights sharpen the look, while the side profile and rear remain unchanged. Exterior updates also include newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels made from a combination of aluminum and resin. In addition, buyers can choose a new exterior color called Hisuinohikari, featuring a Plasma Green body paired with Midnight Black accents on the roof, pillars, and lower cladding in a two-tone finish.
Inside, the cabin layout remains familiar, but the technology has been upgraded. NissanConnect now runs on Google’s software architecture, supporting new features such as Navi-Link Battery Conditioning and Intelligent Distance Control. Interior trim options have been expanded with new light green leather seats paired with light gray accents. Practicality has also been improved with an upgraded external AC power outlet capable of delivering up to 1,500 watts, which can be used even when the vehicle is locked.
The Ariya continues to offer the same 66 kWh and 91 kWh battery options, with a choice of single-motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive. Nissan says the suspension has been retuned specifically for Japanese road conditions, with a focus on improved comfort and a more refined ride.
The Ariya Nismo will also return as part of the facelifted lineup, but it does not receive the same exterior design updates as the standard models, retaining its original aggressive body kit. The Nismo variant continues to use the dual-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system tuned specifically for this model, with updates limited to the Google-based infotainment system, the high-output external power outlet, and the Intelligent Distance Control feature.
Pricing for the facelifted Ariya in Japan starts at ¥6,675,900 (approximately THB 1.33 million) and goes up to ¥8,072,900 (around THB 1.61 million), representing an increase of ¥85,800 (about THB 17,000) over the previous model. Pricing for the facelifted Ariya Nismo will be announced at a later date.
