BYD has unveiled the Atto 3 Evo electric crossover, which is set to launch in global markets. It comes equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage electrical system, all-wheel drive (4WD), and faster charging capability. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and charge from 10-80% in 25 minutes.
The entry-level BYD Atto 3 Evo features a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 230 kW (312 PS) and 380 Nm of torque. The motor has been relocated from the front axle to the rear, allowing the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with a driving range of up to 650 km under the CLTC standard.
Additionally, the new model is available with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option delivering a combined output of 330 kW (449 PS) and 580 Nm of torque. The AWD version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and offers a driving range of approximately 510 km, powered by a 74.88 kWh battery pack. Another highlight is the adoption of a five-link independent rear suspension.
Despite the addition of significant new technologies, the exterior design of the Atto 3 Evo remains largely similar to the previous model, with subtle updates such as relocating the charging port to the rear fender. Practicality has also improved with the addition of a 101-liter front trunk (frunk).
Inside the cabin, the Atto 3 Evo features a stalk-type gear shifter, a 15.6-inch touchscreen display, and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster. Other features include a wireless charging pad and an expanded rear cargo capacity of 490 liters.
