ISUZU’s first electric pickup truck, the “ISUZU D-MAX EV,” was unveiled to the public as a prototype at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand in March last year. ISUZU has since begun production of the left-hand drive version and started shipping it to key European countries, with sales scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
Production of the right-hand drive version in Thailand is expected to begin by the end of 2025, with sales anticipated to start in the United Kingdom in 2026. ISUZU also plans to expand availability to other countries and regions based on market demand.
The ISUZU D-MAX EV comes with a full-time 4-wheel drive system and newly developed e-Axles working together at both the front and rear. The vehicle is built on the latest generation of the D-MAX platform. The rear suspension uses a De-Dion tube setup, replacing the traditional leaf springs. It features regenerative braking and an Eco driving mode. Cabin noise and vibration have been reduced by up to 10%, and the vehicle is capable of wading through water up to 60 centimeters deep.
