Patent images of the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado have surfaced online after being filed and published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The images were first discovered by US automotive media outlet Car and Driver, with the official line drawings revealing a fresh design for the next-generation Silverado, which is expected to be unveiled next year.
Chevrolet will retain its squared-off front-end design, featuring a slim headlight strip running along the leading edge of the bonnet, similar to the latest Toyota HiLux. The main headlight units are positioned lower down in a C-shaped design. The rear taillights also adopt a C-shaped motif, and Chevrolet appears to have added a full-width trim element across the tailgate.
Although the patent documents do not show the interior, earlier spy shots from US media indicate that the new Silverado will feature a massive 33-inch display stretching across the dashboard, combining the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, similar to those found in some Cadillac electric vehicles.
In addition, the bonnet features twin power bulges, while the rear bumper includes two cutouts for dual exhaust outlets on each side (four outlets in total), suggesting that a V8 engine will continue to be offered.
According to the report, General Motors has confirmed it is developing a next-generation V8 engine for its pickups and SUVs, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.
