China’s Leapmotor has unveiled the new B01 electric sedan, which is set to go on sale domestically later this year with a starting price of approximately 150,000 yuan (around 692,000 baht).
The exterior design of the Leapmotor B01 resembles other models in the brand’s lineup, featuring a rounded front end and a full-width rear light bar. While the powertrain details have not yet been officially revealed, Leapmotor claims the car boasts an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.197Cd, enabling a driving range of up to 650 kilometers on a single charge. However, according to a report by Car News China, government documents indicate that there will be options for a 132kW (177 hp) and a 160kW (214 hp) electric motor, paired with a 56.2kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
Inside the cabin, the B01 comes equipped with a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, a 256-color ambient lighting system, a panoramic glass roof, and soft-touch materials covering up to 88% of the interior surfaces. The rear cargo space offers 460 liters of capacity, with an additional 70 liters available beneath the floor. This gives it more storage space than the BYD Seal, though still less than the Tesla Model 3.
For safety, the Leapmotor B01 will include the same advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) found in other Leapmotor vehicles, relying on Lidar sensors instead of cameras. This enhances the system's ability to accurately detect objects and surrounding environments.
