Ford Australia has announced a recall of 13,490 units of its 2022–2025 Ford Ranger pickup and 2022–2025 Ford Everest SUV due to a potential defect involving the left-hand camshaft in vehicles equipped with the V6 diesel engine.
The affected vehicles are 2022 to 2025 models fitted with the 3.0-litre “Lion” turbocharged V6 diesel engine. According to the recall notice filed with the Australian Department of Infrastructure,
"Due to a manufacturing defect, the left-hand engine camshaft sprocket may fracture. As a result, the engine could stall, leading to a sudden loss of motive power while driving."
