Compared to the standard X1, this long-wheelbase version is 116 mm longer and has a 110 mm longer wheelbase. The extended wheelbase results in increased rear legroom by 81 mm and knee room by 107 mm. The rear seats are equipped with softer foam and the seat width has been expanded by 15 mm. The suspension has been specially tuned for greater comfort. The rear seats still feature a 40:20:40 split-folding configuration, allowing the luggage space to expand from 490 liters to 1,600 liters when folded.

The vehicle comes with Comfort Access 2.0, which automatically unlocks the car as the owner approaches and locks it when they walk away. It also includes BMW Digital Key Plus, allowing the owner to use a smartphone as a key and unlock the car simply by bringing the phone near the vehicle.

A 10.7-inch Control Display pairs with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and BMW Head-Up Display, all powered by BMW Operating System 9. The vehicle is equipped with a Harman Kardon audio system.

The iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is powered by an electric motor producing 150 kW (204 hp) and 250 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. A high-voltage 66.5 kWh battery provides a driving range of 402–433 km (WLTP standard). It supports DC fast charging up to 130 kW, charging from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes, and AC charging up to 11 kW, reaching a full charge from 0% to 100% in 6 hours 45 minutes. Customers can charge their cars at BMW Charging Stations and receive a 20% discount when topping up credit via the EVolt app.
