GMC has officially unveiled the All-New Sierra ahead of its full debut later this year, retaining its position as the brand's premium full-size pickup developed alongside the all-new Chevrolet Silverado. Although the two trucks share the same updated platform and underlying architecture, the Sierra continues to distinguish itself with unique styling, higher-quality materials, and a more upscale feature set, reinforcing its premium positioning over its Chevrolet sibling.
The exterior design of the new Sierra draws clear inspiration from the GMC Sierra EV, most notably through its sharper headlight signature and a redesigned grille with a more restrained use of chrome. The result is a cleaner, more modern and more aggressive appearance. While the truck rides on an updated version of the existing platform rather than an all-new architecture, it features completely redesigned bodywork and an all-new cabin with significant improvements in material quality and onboard technology.
One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of GM's next-generation Small Block V8 engines, available in 5.7-litre and 6.6-litre configurations, replacing the outgoing 5.3-litre and 6.2-litre V8s. Besides the increase in displacement, both engines receive a newly developed fuel injection system, improved combustion efficiency, enhanced cooling performance and greater long-term durability. Although GM has yet to announce official power, torque and fuel economy figures, the new V8s are expected to outperform the current engines, which produce up to 360 hp and 425 hp, respectively.
For buyers seeking a smaller engine, GMC will continue offering an updated version of the 2.7-litre TurboMax turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which currently delivers 314 hp and 569 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 3.0-litre Duramax turbocharged inline-six diesel remains exclusive to GMC as part of General Motors' strategy to further differentiate the Sierra from the Chevrolet Silverado. The current Duramax produces 308 hp and an impressive 671 Nm of torque. Every engine in the lineup is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
At the top of the range sits the Denali Ultimate, powered exclusively by the new 6.6-litre V8. The flagship model features a high-tech cabin equipped with three displays, including a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and an 11.5-inch passenger display. The centre screen can slide away to reveal a hidden storage compartment, while the passenger display features a retractable cover that conceals the touchscreen and leaves a slim information display visible. Exclusive to the Denali Ultimate is a 16-speaker Bose premium audio system, complete with speakers integrated into the front head restraints.
For off-road enthusiasts, the Sierra AT4X comes equipped with a factory 2-inch suspension lift, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tyres, Multimatic Jounce Control dampers, and electronic locking differentials at both the front and rear. The model also features a unique bonnet and front bumper design, heavily bolstered sport seats, a D-shaped steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, stainless-steel speaker grilles, and a distinctive Timber Mahogany interior theme.
The All-New GMC Sierra is scheduled to go on sale in the United States in late 2026, continuing to serve as GMC's flagship premium full-size pickup for customers seeking greater luxury, advanced technology and enhanced capability beyond what the Chevrolet Silverado offers.
