Ford has introduced the special FX Package for the current-generation Mustang (S650), evoking memories of the third-generation Mustang, better known as the Fox Body Mustang. This package is aimed squarely at die-hard fans of the 1980s and 1990s.
The FX Package combines Adriatic Blue Metallic, a new color inspired by the teal hue seen on the original Fox Body Mustang, with white accents throughout, including the wheels. Two new wheel designs are available, both finished in Oxford White. One of the wheels is a revised version of the 19-inch five-spoke design already offered for the 2025 model. The other is exclusive to models equipped with the Performance Pack. Both sets come with white center caps featuring a special FX-specific font inspired by the “MUSTANG” wordmark used on 1987–1993 models. White accents extend to the borders around the 5.0-liter and GT badges, and Ford has added an all-white pony logo in the center of the gloss-black front grille. For Performance Pack models, the front air intakes—or “nostrils”—are painted Oxford White, while standard models without the pack get Dark Carbonized Gray versions. The FX Package also includes white taillights, which stand out strikingly against the new Adriatic Blue body color. These white taillights will also be available as a separate part through Ford Performance Parts for any seventh-gen Mustang owner who wants to retrofit them.
Inside, the FX Package continues the retro theme with unique perforated leather seats that combine black and white in a plaid-inspired pattern reminiscent of 1980s Mustangs. These inserts are available on both the standard bucket seats and the optional Recaro sport seats. The cabin is accented with City Silver and Adriatic Blue contrast stitching throughout—covering the door panels, dashboard, seats, and steering wheel. A Mustang GT badge on the dash uses the FX-specific font for added flair. New for the upcoming model year are custom seatbelt color options, including International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with a red stripe. These are available across the entire Mustang lineup. Ford is also bringing back Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, a color last offered in 2019, alongside the new Adriatic Blue Metallic. For the final nostalgic touch, owners can switch the digital gauge cluster to a Fox Body–inspired layout, replicating the look of the 1987–1993 instrument panel, complete with white daytime lettering that glows green at night.
The FX Package will be available exclusively on GT Premium models, all of which are powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine, delivering power through either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
