Tata has unveiled the Tata Harrier.ev, an all-electric SUV that comes with an optional all-wheel-drive system and offers a maximum range of up to 627 kilometers on a single charge (as per MIDC standards).
Despite being an electric vehicle, the Harrier.ev maintains a design similar to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Key EV-specific updates include a closed-off grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, unique 19-inch alloy wheels, and exclusive EV badging.
Inside the cabin, the Harrier.ev is highlighted by a 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED display. It also features a 540-degree surround camera system, a 10-speaker JBL audio setup, a panoramic sunroof, a power-operated tailgate, a digital rearview mirror, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The system runs on Tata’s TiDAL (Tata Intelligent Digital Architecture Layer) platform, which supports connected features and over-the-air software updates.
The Harrier.ev is offered in three main trims and one special edition:
-
Adventure
-
Fearless
-
Empowered
-
Stealth Edition (special dark-themed version)
While the standard Harrier is built on the Omega Arc platform—derived from Land Rover’s D8 architecture—the Harrier.ev adopts the new Acti.ev Plus platform. This EV-specific architecture accommodates electric motors and battery packs, and it also introduces a new “Ultra Glide” rear suspension system with frequency-dependent dampers.
The Harrier.ev is available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The AWD version delivers 156 hp from the front motor and 235 hp from the rear, producing a combined torque of 504 Nm. This makes it the most powerful Harrier yet, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
The powertrain offers six drive modes: Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom. It also features an Off-road Assist function (similar to low-speed cruise control for tough terrain) and a Drift Mode for sportier driving dynamics.
Buyers can choose between two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger pack delivers a claimed MIDC range of 627 km, though Tata estimates a real-world range of 480–505 km. Fast charging via a 120 kW DC charger allows for a 20–80% charge in just 25 minutes.
Pre-orders for the Tata Harrier.ev in India will open on July 2, with prices starting at ₹2,149,000 (approximately ฿ 820,000 or $25,100).
