Mitsubishi has unveiled a “new” van, the Mitsubishi Versa Van, in the Philippines market. It is a 15-seat passenger van developed based on the Nissan Urvan.
The exterior design is carried over from the Nissan Urvan, which is sold in some markets under the Caravan name. The model was originally introduced in 2011 and received facelifts in 2017 and 2021. The main differences are Mitsubishi badges and Versa Van lettering on the tailgate. The vehicle is equipped with halogen headlights, unpainted plastic bumpers, and small steel wheels with hubcaps.
Inside, the cabin features a 15-seat layout arranged in five rows. Each row is equipped with roof-mounted air vents to provide cooling for all passengers. The van has only one sliding door, while the seats on the right side can be folded to allow easier access. Safety equipment is basic, including front airbags for the driver and front passenger, while rear passengers are provided with seatbelts only.
The van uses a ladder-frame chassis and is powered by a Mitsubishi-sourced engine. It features a 2.5-liter 4D56 turbodiesel engine producing 129 hp and 356 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. It also comes with a 65-liter fuel tank.
The 2026 Mitsubishi Versa is now available for order in the Philippines, with a starting price of ₱1,649,000 (approximately 888,000 baht). This makes it ₱89,000 (approximately 48,000 baht) more expensive than the mechanically identical Nissan Urvan Standard.
